Classes and enrollment2 min read
A class in FrontRow is a group that meets every week during a term, like "Ballet 1, Mondays at 4pm". Once you add it, its meetings appear on your calendar and families can enroll.
Before you start#
Every class runs within a term (a date range like "Fall 2026"). If you haven't added a term yet, do that first in Studio settings, on the Schedule setup tab. See Set up terms and programs.
It also helps to have your rooms, teachers and tuition plans set up, but you can add a class without them and fill them in later.
Create a class#
- Open Classes in the menu.
- Select New class.
- Fill in the details (see below).
- Select Create class in the bar at the bottom.
FrontRow opens the new class's page when it's saved.
What each field means#
- Title: the name families see, like "Jazz 2" or "Tiny Tumblers".
- Description: shown to families under the class on your online registration page.
- Term: the date range the class runs in. Its weekly meetings follow the term's dates.
- Program (optional): only shows if you have programs set up.
- Room: where the class meets.
- Teacher: who teaches it. Leave it as Unassigned if you haven't decided.
- Days: tick each day of the week it meets.
- Start and End: the class times.
- Capacity: how many students can enroll before new ones go on the waitlist. If you picked a room, you can leave this empty to use the room's capacity.
- Tuition plan: what the class costs. Choose No tuition for a free class. If you have no plans yet, follow the Add a tuition plan link.
- Youngest age and Oldest age (optional): the age range for the class. FrontRow checks these when you enroll a student.
- Show in online registration: leave this ticked so families can find and register for the class online. Untick it to keep the class hidden while you finish setting it up.
Tip: If the room or teacher is already booked at that time, FrontRow tells you when you save so you can pick another time or room.
Faster ways to add classes#
- Duplicate a similar class: on the Classes page, open the menu at the end of the class's row and choose Duplicate. The copy is hidden from online registration until you edit it and tick Show in online registration.
- For a camp, workshop or other program, open the arrow next to New class and choose Camp or program.
Who can do this#
Only owners and admins can add classes. Front desk staff and teachers can view them.
