Pre-orders are perfect for items you order in bulk once you know what people want, like recital shirts or team jackets. You open the item for a set time, families order and pay, and when it closes you get a count of every size and color to send to your supplier.
Only owners and admins can set up pre-orders.
Set up a pre-order item#
- Open Store in the menu, then Products.
- Select Add item (or Edit on an existing item).
- Add the photos, name, price and every Size and color you'll offer. Leave the stock blank so it doesn't sell out.
- Under Sale or pre-order window, set Available until to the date and time orders close. Set Available from too if you want it to open later.
- Select Add item or Save item.
Times are in your studio's time zone. In the product list, the item shows when its pre-order closes, or Closed once it has.
See what's been ordered#
- Open Store in the menu, then Products.
- Scroll below the product list to Pre-order summary.
- Pick the Item. Pre-order items come first, with their closing date.
The summary shows how many of each size and color were ordered and paid for, minus refunds, with a total at the bottom.
Send the count to your supplier#
Select Download CSV. You get a spreadsheet file (CSV) with each size and color and its quantity, ready to open in Excel or Google Sheets or attach to an email.
After the items arrive#
Orders appear under Orders as usual. When the stock comes in, select Mark ready on each order so the buyer gets an email that it's ready to pick up. See Fulfill store orders.
Tip: Send an announcement to families when the pre-order opens and a reminder a few days before it closes.
