The Pages tab lists every page on your website in menu order. From here you add pages, change their order, hide pages you're still working on, and set each page's title and address.
Only owners and admins can manage the website.
Add a page#
- Open Website in the menu, then the Pages tab.
- Select Add page.
- Enter a Title, like "About us".
- Check the Address. It's made from the title, using lowercase letters, numbers and dashes. Change it if you like.
- Under Start from, pick Blank page or a starter: About us, Classes and schedule, Contact or Camps and programs.
- Select Add page.
Good to know: New pages aren't in your menus until you add them. Open the Design tab, then Menus, to add a link (see Change your design).
A site can have up to 30 pages. When you reach that, delete a page to add another.
Change the order#
Drag a page by its handle on the left, or use the up and down arrows next to it. The order is saved straight away.
Show or hide a page#
Use the Visible switch on a page's row. Hidden pages are marked Hidden and visitors can't see them, which is handy for pages you're still writing. Your home page is always visible.
Rename a page or change its address#
- Select More on the page's row, then Rename, address and SEO.
- Change the Title or Address.
- Under Search and sharing, you can also set:
- Search title: what shows in search results and browser tabs (up to 70 characters). Leave it blank to use the page title.
- Search description: the short summary under the title in search results (up to 160 characters). Leave it blank to use your site's default.
- Social image: the picture shown when someone shares a link to this page.
- Select Save.
Tip: If the page is already published and you change its address, add a redirect from the old address so links people saved still work. See Set up redirects.
Pick a different home page#
Select More on any page's row, then Set as home page. If that page was hidden, it becomes visible.
Delete a page#
- Select More on the page's row, then Delete.
- Select Delete page to confirm.
The page and its draft are removed, and links to it in your header and footer menus are taken out. If it was published, it stays live until you publish again. If buttons or text on other pages link to it, you'll need to give them a new link before you can publish. The home page can't be deleted.
The Shop row#
If your online store is turned on, a Shop row appears at the bottom of the list. It's built by the store, so you can't edit it here. Use its Visible switch to add or remove Shop from your menu, or select Manage store to change what you sell.
Changes on this tab are part of your draft. Publish to put them on your live site.
